Welcome! The Door County Seed Library is a free program consisting of vegetable, flower, and herb seeds that are freely available to the public. Members can check out seeds, grow them, hopefully let some plants go to seed, then save some of those seeds to plant next year or share with other gardeners.
Although not required, we encourage all members to learn basic seed-saving techniques. We encourage beginning seed savers to save seeds from these easy plants: lettuce, tomato, beans or peas.
We are committed to encouraging our community to participate in the centuries-long traditions of gardening and seed saving. Our goals are to help people become successful gardeners and seed savers by cultivating the power of seed.
The Door County Seed Library operates on the honor system. We ask that you only take seeds that you will grow in your personal garden. We strongly encourage you to share your excess harvest with your friends and neighbors!
